The home manager, Caroline Bowstead, noted that the offer to have a Dreamboy perform put smiles on the residents’ faces. After discussing it with the ladies at the care home, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing eagerness for the event. Bowstead observed that the reaction from the audience was unprecedented, stating she had never witnessed such enthusiasm at any past events held at Astune Rise. The event saw laughter, tears of joy, and even playful gestures from the audience, such as throwing underwear, indicating how much fun they were having during the performance. Max Hunter's background is also noteworthy; before becoming a male stripper, he managed a retirement village and worked with older adults in St Helens, Merseyside. He expressed immense pleasure at being back in a care home setting, where he felt it was a privilege to make the residents happy. Hunter said that putting smiles on their faces was a rewarding experience, highlighting the joy that entertainment can bring, especially to an elderly audience. Dreamboys managing director, Alice Woods, remarked on the incredible day, emphasizing just how much the ladies loved the performance. She said the ladies even asked for Hunter to come back for another performance, indicating that the show had created a lasting impression and set a standard for future entertainment at the care home.
