In the United States, specifically in Aurora, a drive-by shooting occurred on Saturday night, injuring three individuals, including two adults and a child. The incident took place around 7:22 p.m. when the victims were traveling south on Airport Boulevard near Colfax Avenue. It was reported that an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside them, and a person inside opened fire, wounding a man and a female passenger. The wounded man managed to drive to a nearby area where he flagged down medical personnel for assistance. The victims were taken to a hospital, and although the man suffered serious injuries, both adults are expected to survive, while a 12-year-old girl in the back seat of the vehicle sustained a superficial graze wound. The other two children in the car were unharmed but taken to the hospital as a precaution. Following the shooting, Aurora police launched an investigation to locate the suspect. They determined that the victims were en route to meet someone for a transaction. When the suspects took the items without payment and fled, the victims attempted to follow them. Authorities stated that someone from the suspect's vehicle fired upon the victims during this incident. The police concentrated their investigation in the vicinity of the crime scene and the area where the man flagged down emergency services. Later that evening, the police located the suspect vehicle, a GMC Acadia, parked outside a residence in the 1000 block of North Jasper Street. Officers monitored the home until the vehicle departed. They performed a traffic stop near South Peoria Street and East Mississippi Avenue, during which they apprehended the driver, identified as Christopher Campos-Anguiano. Following an interview at the Aurora Police Department headquarters, Campos-Anguiano was booked into the Aurora Detention Center. Authorities disclosed that he is currently facing five counts of attempted second-degree murder stemming from the drive-by shooting incident. The police are continuing their investigation and gathering more information about the events that led to this serious crime, as well as determining if any additional suspects are involved.
