Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris on Friday morning after an altercation with his bodyguard at the luxurious George V hotel, according to French authorities. The 33-year-old artist, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, allegedly assaulted a security guard who intervened in the dispute. French prosecutors have initiated a criminal investigation into the incident, which has been classified as "unspecified violence" against the guard. Prior to the incident, Scott was seen attending a Team USA Olympic basketball match against Serbia, where he was photographed alongside American businessman Michael Rubin and fellow rapper Quavo. This arrest marks another legal issue for Scott, who was previously detained in Miami earlier this year due to a confrontation on a private yacht. Although a charge of disorderly intoxication was dropped, he still faces a trespassing charge from that incident. Scott, a ten-time Grammy Award nominee, is recognized as one of the leading figures in hip-hop. His career has been marred by controversy, particularly following the tragic crowd surge at his Astroworld festival in Houston in 2021, which resulted in the deaths of ten fans. While he has not faced criminal charges related to the incident, he remains embroiled in civil lawsuits alleging negligence on the part of the event's organizers. In 2022, Scott achieved his first UK number one album with "Utopia," released shortly after a planned performance near Egypt's pyramids was canceled.
