In an ongoing dispute, Paddy McKillen, a renowned property magnate and businessman from Belfast, alleges he provided extensive assistance to Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, a prominent Qatari figure and ex-prime minister. This assistance took place as the sheikh was in the process of furnishing his luxurious $118 million mansion located in the highly exclusive Bel Air district of Los Angeles. McKillen notably aided HBJ in procuring expensive artworks, including five pieces from the controversial artist Damien Hirst, for the luxurious establishment which boasted 24 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms. Despite the substantial value of the transactions and McKillen's integral role in facilitating the acquisition of these high-priced items, he asserts that he has not received any form of compensation for his services. This assertion forms part of a broader legal battle, with McKillen actively pursuing seven separate cases against the sheikh regarding billing disputes related to the renovations and furnishings of the opulent residences.
