On Sunday evening around 8:30 PM, a tragic accident occurred in Tokawade, Murbad, when a car carrying six individuals lost control and crashed into a tree. The group was en route to Bhimashankar temple for darshan, marking the first day of the auspicious month of Shravan. The vehicle, an Ertiga, was traveling from Kalyan when the incident took place. Local authorities were alerted by bystanders who witnessed the crash. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, transporting the victims to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, three individuals were pronounced dead upon arrival. The deceased were identified as Narendra Mhatre, a 34-year-old local contractor, along with Pratik Choraghe, 30, and Ashwin Bhoir, 28, who were employed at Mhatre's construction site. The injured, including Shivaji Ghadage, 35, Vaibhav Kumawat, 24, and Akshay Ghadage, 25, sustained serious injuries, including fractures to their legs and hands. The Tokawade police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, focusing on how the car lost control. Assistant police inspector Dinkar Chakore confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families after the completion of post-mortem procedures.
