Story

Meta’s social media platform Threads has unveiled several new features aimed at improving user engagement and functionality, coinciding with the first anniversary of its web version launched in August 2023. Among the updates is the ability to store multiple drafts, allowing users to save up to 100 drafts per account. This feature, which began testing in February and was rolled out in March, is expected to streamline content creation for users. In addition to draft storage, Threads is introducing a new Insights screen that provides users with valuable demographic information about their audience. This feature reveals the age, gender, and location of individuals who interact with posts, along with total views and engagement metrics, categorized by followers and non-followers. This data aims to help users better understand their audience and tailor their content accordingly. The platform has also enhanced its desktop experience by allowing users to rearrange columns in its TweetDeck-like multicolumn view, which was introduced in May. While users can customize the order of various columns, the “For You” column remains fixed in its default position. These features have been gradually rolled out to select users over the past few weeks. Lastly, Threads is testing a multi-feed experience on iOS, although details regarding the ability to reorder feeds have not been disclosed. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has indicated that a post-scheduling feature is also on the horizon, further expanding the platform's capabilities.
