— Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller has stated that he considers the case regarding allegations of assault against his pregnant girlfriend to be closed, as no charges have been filed. Speaking on Thursday, Miller expressed relief, saying, “I’m happy to just be in this moment, living my life.” The allegations stemmed from an incident on November 29, when Miller turned himself in to police in Dallas after being accused of third-degree felony assault, which carries severe penalties. Miller was released on a $5,000 bond and has consistently denied the allegations, labeling them as “100 percent false” and exaggerated. He acknowledged that an incident occurred between him and his girlfriend but maintained that it did not align with the accusations made against him. “Whatever happened, I hate that it happened,” he remarked, emphasizing his desire to clear his name. According to a police affidavit, the alleged assault involved Miller putting his hands on the woman’s neck, pulling her hair, and pushing her when she attempted to retrieve her belongings. The affidavit also noted that the woman claimed to have recorded parts of the incident and threatened to call the police, prompting Miller to leave the scene. Upon returning to Buffalo, Miller met with team officials, including owner Terry Pegula and coach Sean McDermott, to discuss the situation, with the Dallas district attorney’s office listening in. As of now, the case remains unresolved in terms of legal action, but Miller appears focused on moving forward.
