Alex Bregman, a 30-year-old third baseman, recently had surgery to remove a bone chip from his right elbow. This procedure was confirmed by his agent, Scott Boras, during a news conference at the general managers meetings. Boras mentioned that Bregman will be back swinging in a few weeks, indicating a potential quick recovery. Bregman became a free agent following the expiration of a $100 million, five-year contract with the Houston Astros, which spanned from 2020 to 2024. Over his nine-year career, he has maintained a batting average of .272 with 191 home runs and 663 RBIs.
