Roger Moore faced significant challenges while filming the iconic James Bond movie *For Your Eyes Only*, which airs today on ITV. Known for his daring stunts, Moore was particularly apprehensive about a dangerous scene involving a cliff fall, which he described as terrifying. The stunt, which involved a sudden rope jerk, was executed successfully, but the actor was haunted by the sight of a nearby cemetery, likening the safety box to a casket. The filming location in Greece presented additional hurdles, as the Eastern Orthodox monks residing in the nearby Meteora monastery opposed the film's violent themes. Their disapproval led to a series of protests, including hanging laundry from windows and draping plastic bunting over the monastery to disrupt filming. A legal battle ensued, with the Greek Supreme Court ruling that the monks only owned the interiors of the monastery, while the exteriors belonged to the government. As a result of these disruptions, *For Your Eyes Only* became notable for being the only Bond film that did not feature M, Bond's superior. The film opens with a dramatic scene where Moore's Bond seemingly eliminates his arch-nemesis, Blofeld, in a helicopter drop. The rights dispute regarding the filming location was not resolved until 2013, paving the way for future Bond films, including *Spectre* and *No Time To Die*, featuring Christoph Waltz as the villain.
