During a recent dialogue at PM Excellence College in Dhar, Antar Singh Arya, the chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, asserted that any form of injustice towards tribal communities will not be tolerated. He directed local collector Priyank Mishra to ensure the immediate provision of roti makers in tribal hostels, addressing a concern previously reported by Free Press on August 15. Arya reassured the tribal community of the Commission's dedication to their rights and security, encouraging them to voice their issues for prompt resolution. Arya emphasized the importance of preserving tribal customs while also prioritizing education and modern farming techniques. He highlighted the government's ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing education, health, and overall development for tribal populations, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to their welfare. The appointment of a tribal woman as President was also noted as a significant milestone for the community. In a follow-up meeting, Arya instructed officials to conduct physical verifications of forest rights leases and improve mobile connectivity in forest villages. He called for monthly inspections of hospitals and hostels to ensure better living conditions for tribal residents. Additionally, Arya urged for improved implementation of government schemes, including a reduction in margin money for the Tantya Mama Yojana, to facilitate better access to resources for tribal communities.
