This year’s line-up features 255 works from 80 countries, highlighting the contributions of female and non-binary filmmakers with 112 projects. Notable films include Mike Leigh's 'Hard Truths', Andrea Arnold's 'Bird', and Pedro Almodóvar's 'The Room Next Door', which received acclaim at the Venice Film Festival. The festival will open with 'Blitz', directed by Steve McQueen, which explores the lives of Londoners during World War II, and will close with 'Piece by Piece', an animated biopic of Pharrell Williams. Other significant screenings include a documentary about Elton John co-directed by David Furnish, a controversial film about Donald Trump, and a romantic drama starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield. Special presentations will feature works from acclaimed directors such as Luca Guadagnino and Jesse Eisenberg, alongside a documentary on Twiggy by Sadie Frost. The festival aims to present a wide spectrum of cinematic experiences, reflecting both historical narratives and contemporary themes.
