IonQ partners with EPB to create first quantum hub in US

IonQ, a leader in commercial quantum computing, has partnered with EPB, an energy and communications company based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to jointly develop a new quantum innovation center. This collaboration is expected to enhance the local infrastructure and establish Chattanooga as a national hub for quantum innovation. The center will accommodate a state-of-the-art IonQ Forte Enterprise quantum computer, which both companies will utilize to further their goals in the field of quantum technology. The EPB Quantum Center will not only house the IonQ Forte Enterprise system but will also integrate the current EPB Quantum Network. This initiative builds on the existing support from IonQ for the EPB Quantum Network, aiming to bolster Chattanooga's reputation as a pioneering location for quantum computing and networking.
