Northern Colorado ends 18-game losing streak with win over Weber State

In Ogden, Utah, Northern Colorado achieved a significant milestone by breaking an 18-game losing streak with a 21-17 victory over Weber State on Saturday night. This win marked their first since November 12, 2022, when they narrowly defeated Northern Arizona. The Bears' offense was highlighted by Darius Stewart, who scored a crucial fourth-quarter touchdown, capping a lengthy 98-yard drive that consumed over eight minutes of play. This strategic drive was pivotal in securing the win, as it left Weber State with limited time to respond. Northern Colorado's rushing attack was led by David Afari, who contributed 74 yards, while Caden Meis added 60 yards and a touchdown. Stewart also played a key role, finishing with 37 yards. Quarterback Kia’i Keone completed 14 of 28 passes for 118 yards and had a touchdown run in the first quarter, showcasing a balanced offensive effort.
