Hong Kong Films Showcase at Busan ACFM, Oct 5-8

Hong Kong is set to showcase its film industry at the Asian Contents and Film Market (ACFM) during the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) from October 5 to 8, 2024. This event is organized by the Hong Kong Film Development Council, the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The Hong Kong Pavilion will feature prominent distributors and production companies, aiming to foster international collaboration and exchange ideas with global partners. A series of seminars will be held, including one focused on co-production funding and location insights, highlighting Hong Kong's role as a hub for international cultural exchange. Notable figures from the industry, such as Cindy Chan and Chu Chen On, will share their expertise, emphasizing the advantages of Hong Kong's film production resources and its strategic position in Asia. The event will also feature the world premiere of Chan Oliver Siu Kuen's second feature film, which addresses the challenges of motherhood. Other films showcased include action and drama titles from various production companies, reflecting the diversity and creativity of Hong Kong's film industry. This initiative not only aims to promote Hong Kong's film sector but also to strengthen its position as a key player in the Asian film market, encouraging co-productions and collaborations that can enhance the global reach of Hong Kong cinema.
