Atlassian launches Rovo AI: Your new AI teammate

Atlassian has announced the general availability of Rovo, its AI teammate, during the Team '24 Europe event in Barcelona. Rovo integrates smarter search and chat-based AI tools, enabling users to automate workflows in tools like Jira and Confluence. The core feature, Rovo Search, combines data from Atlassian tools and third-party SaaS applications, with plans to support around 80 connectors in the coming months. Currently, it integrates with services such as Slack, Figma, Google Drive, and GitHub. Rovo Chat allows users to ask questions about the data, enhancing the search experience. Additionally, Rovo's browser extension enables chat functionality across the web. The search results are influenced by social signals, improving relevance based on collaboration patterns. A significant aspect of Rovo is the introduction of Rovo Agents, which can handle routine tasks, allowing employees to focus on more critical work. Despite the potential limitations of Rovo's reach due to some employees not using Atlassian products, the company has made Rovo available to non-Atlassian users at no extra cost. Alongside Rovo, Atlassian is launching additional features for developers, including an AI Agent that generates code plans and recommendations based on task descriptions, streamlining the development process.
