In a significant move to address increasing sustainability requirements, Datamaran announced its strategic collaboration with Deloitte on December 11, 2024. This partnership aims to support companies in Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium as they navigate the complex landscape of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and compliance. Through this collaboration, Deloitte will implement Datamaran's double-materiality analysis software, empowering its clients to better assess their sustainability impacts and align with regulatory mandates. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a pivotal aspect of the European Union's sustainability framework, requiring about 50,000 companies to disclose their ESG performance alongside their annual financial reporting. By 2024, this directive mandates the disclosure of over 1,000 key data points related to ESG metrics covering various aspects, including pollution and biodiversity, marking a substantial shift in corporate accountability regarding sustainability. Datamaran's software offers capabilities to monitor over 400 external risk factors and includes a robust database of 9,000 companies that allow clients to benchmark their performance effectively. By utilizing this advanced technology, Deloitte is poised to give its clients actionable insights and analysis, fostering the attainment of their sustainability goals with greater confidence. Datamaran Founder and CEO Marjella Lecourt-Alma expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of assisting C-Suite executives in meeting legislative expectations through data-driven approaches. Senior Sustainability Partner Wim Bartels from Deloitte Netherlands highlighted the value of this collaboration, asserting that combining their expertise will enable clients to navigate the intricate regulations surrounding ESG transparently and informatively.
