Ty Jackson, a four-star linebacker from Loxahatchee, Florida, has committed to USC, becoming the highest-rated defensive recruit in the Trojans' 2025 class. His decision came after a visit to USC, where he witnessed the team’s impressive 48-0 victory over Utah State. Jackson, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 pounds, was previously ranked as the No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2025 cycle by ESPN and was the fourth-highest-rated uncommitted defender in the class. Initially, Jackson had planned to delay his commitment until later in the fall, possibly until the early signing period on December 4. However, he was influenced by the emerging defensive strategy under first-year coordinator D'Anton Lynn, leading him to make a quick decision just two weeks into the regular season. His commitment is a significant boost for USC, especially after the program faced setbacks in June when two top-30 defenders decommitted. The Trojans have been actively rebuilding their defensive class, having recently flipped commitments from other prospects, including Jadon Perlotte and Kendarius Reddick.
