Pune police confirm NCP MLA Sunil Tingre"s role in Porsche crash

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed the involvement of NCP MLA Sunil Tingre in the investigation surrounding a fatal Porsche crash that occurred on May 19. The incident involved a 17-year-old boy, the son of a prominent real estate developer, who allegedly drove under the influence of alcohol and struck two IT professionals on motorbikes in Kalyani Nagar. Following the crash, Tingre faced scrutiny for allegedly attempting to influence the investigation, particularly after visiting the police station handling the case. Despite initial claims that no connection to the case was established, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar revealed that Tingre was questioned by police for three to four hours. Pawar defended Tingre, stating that he provided a clear account of events and was not linked to the incident. He emphasized that as an MLA, it is Tingre's duty to respond to incidents in his constituency. Four months post-accident, the families of the victims continue to seek justice. Om Avadhiya, father of one of the deceased, expressed satisfaction with the Pune court's rejection of bail applications for six individuals accused of manipulating blood samples related to the case. He remains hopeful for justice, despite the lengthy process.
