A rancher along the Arizona-Mexico border has publicly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her handling of the border crisis, attributing the surge in drug smuggling and illegal immigration to her policies. Tyler Klump, who operates a cattle ranch in the area, expressed his frustration, stating, "Kamala, you’re not helping anything. You’re hurting us." Under Harris's oversight, approximately 7.8 million migrants have crossed the border illegally, prompting increased scrutiny of her role in the ongoing situation. Despite a reported decline in migrant crossings in July, Klump noted that his property continues to experience high levels of migrant traffic. He described the aftermath of these crossings, which includes discarded water bottles, backpacks, and ladders used to navigate the border wall. Klump emphasized the negative impact on his cattle, stating that the debris poses dangers to their health and has resulted in significant financial losses for his ranching business. Arizona has emerged as a critical area for drug trafficking, with half of the fentanyl seized in the U.S. in 2022 coming from the state. Recently, border authorities made a historic seizure of four million fentanyl pills in Arizona, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement. Klump referred to his property as a "smuggler’s paradise," criticizing Harris for inadvertently supporting cartel operations while neglecting the needs of local residents. In light of these issues, Klump has voiced his support for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, praising the border wall constructed during Trump's administration as a beneficial measure for his ranch.
