Bose has recently announced the release of the upgraded QuietComfort Ultra wireless earbuds, featuring improved adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. This enhancement allows the earbuds to adapt more smoothly to sudden increases in noise, leveraging advancements based on technology originally developed for hearing aids. The upgraded earbuds are set to be available later this summer through Bose's online store, with a price tag of $299 and color options including black, white smoke, and deep plum. In addition to the earbuds, Bose is also introducing new models of Bluetooth speakers, including a 2nd generation SoundLink Micro expected to retail for $129. The new SoundLink Micro boasts significant improvements such as a USB-C charging port, double the battery life—expanding from six to twelve hours—and enhanced sound clarity at higher frequencies. Existing users will benefit from compatibility with Bose's mobile app, which enables customization of shortcut button functions and sound profile adjustments using an equalizer. Furthermore, Bose is launching a new premium portable Bluetooth speaker, the SoundLink Plus. Scheduled for release on June 26, 2025, it features a subwoofer and four passive radiators, offering a powerful sound experience with up to 20 hours of battery life. The SoundLink Plus comes with an IP67 waterproof rating, making it resilient against water damage and suitable for outdoor usage. It will be available for preorder at a price of $269 with color options including black, blue dusk, and a new citrus yellow. As part of the upgrades, the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds now include a new guard to reduce earwax buildup and simplify cleaning, in addition to an option to disable capacitive touch controls to avoid accidental inputs. The combination of advanced ANC technology and improved call quality positions Bose’s latest products as highly competitive in the personal audio market, potentially attracting both new customers and existing Bose enthusiasts looking to upgrade their audio experience.
