Jain Community Celebrates Lord Mahavir's Nirvana Year in Chembur

The Jain community is preparing to celebrate the 2550th nirvana year of Lord Mahavir with a special event called Shasan Vibes Carnival, scheduled for October 2 in Chembur. This carnival aims to engage children and youth through various interactive activities, including VR games, theatre shows, and educational puzzles, all designed to promote awareness of Jainism and its principles. The event is a collaborative effort by several organizations, including Shree Rishbdevji Jain Derasar and Shree Chembur Jain Sangh, and is supported by respected Jain saints. The carnival will feature 108 stalls that will showcase practical Jain philosophy, entertainment options like magic shows, and a shopping area. The organizers hope to attract Jain children from various pathshalas across the city, providing them with a platform to learn about their religion in a fun and engaging manner. Lalit Khicha, president of Shree Chembur Jain Sangh, emphasized the importance of this event in fostering a sense of pride and knowledge among young community members. The celebration marks a significant milestone in Jain history, commemorating the moment when Lord Mahavir attained liberation in 527 BC.
