- The return of the documents was a result of a legal rebuke on the initial requirement.
Indore, Madhya Pradesh – The Madhya Pradesh High Court (MPHC) expressed significant dissatisfaction with Dr. Sanjay Dixit, Dean of MGM Medical College, during a hearing on Wednesday. The court's ire was directed at Dr. Dixit for his failure to comply with a previous order mandating the return of original documents belonging to student Shubhangi Raj. This situation arose from a court directive issued on July 18, which explicitly instructed Dr. Dixit to return the documents without requiring the student to pay a sum of Rs 30 lakh. The court's order was further reinforced by a directive from the Director of Medical Education (DME) on July 24. Despite these clear instructions, Dr. Dixit delayed the return of the documents, leading Shubhangi to file a contempt petition through her lawyer, Advocate Aditya Sanghi. During the proceedings, the court sought an explanation from Dr. Dixit, questioning his apparent disregard for the law. The judge sternly asked, “Do you know the importance of the court's order? Do you consider yourself bigger than the court?” Ultimately, Dr. Dixit complied with the court's order on Wednesday and returned the original documents to Shubhangi. However, the court issued a warning, indicating that any future violations could result in a significant fine. Following the return of the documents, the court dismissed the contempt petition filed by the student.
