Key representatives from the Albanian Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation attended the event, marking a significant step in fostering a healthier entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. Through this program, a substantial amount of 712,552.08 euros has been directed towards awarding a total of 40 grants to eligible startups and small-to-medium enterprises, with funding categories designated for different developmental stages of projects. The three funding categories under this program include Idea and Validation, providing 10,000 euros with a 5% co-financing requirement; Growth Phase, offering 20,000 euros with a 20% co-financing requirement; and Scale-Up, which grants 30,000 euros with a 30% co-financing requirement. This structure allows for a diverse range of entrepreneurs to access financial support tailored to their specific needs and objectives. Sokol Duma, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, announced during the meeting that in collaboration with the 'EU4Innovation' initiative, over 11.7 million euros have been invested so far to strengthen the innovation landscape in Albania. The focus of this investment is on supporting incubation and acceleration programs, as well as facilitating participation in international events, thereby widening the exposure and growth potential for Albanian startups. This strategic approach is critical in building a robust network of innovators and business leaders who can significantly contribute to the country’s economic development and sustainability efforts. As discussed, the importance of nurturing creativity and innovative strategies cannot be understated, especially in industries such as technology, crafts, and tourism services, which are essential to Albania’s future prosperity.
