MDC Data Centers, a leader in neutral data centers and International Fiber Crossings, announced its new Querétaro facility during the Katalyst Live 2024 event in Mexico City held on December 11, 2024. This strategic expansion into Mexico aims to leverage Querétaro's emergence as a crucial hub for digital interconnection within Latin America. The facility, referred to as MDC-QRO, is set to provide enhanced content delivery and support for various digital platforms, carriers, and content providers seeking cross-border expansion. MDC intends to address power availability concerns by securing robust power infrastructure, assuring that operations can be maintained reliably in the region, thus catering to the growing demand for data services. The Querétaro facility will feature an initial operational space of 10,000 square feet, designed to expand based on market demand. With the establishment of MDC-QRO, MDC Data Centers seeks to deepen its commitment to fostering seamless interconnection at the U.S.-Mexico border through its integrated Border Connect Platform. This facility will offer critical benefits, including redundancy, scalability, and improved performance, allowing customers worldwide to capitalize on the operational advantages of enhanced connectivity. Construction for the new facility is projected to commence in early 2025, with expectations for operations to begin by early 2026. Founding members of this initiative include major industry players such as Bestel, Axnet, Vivaro, and TotalPlay. These organizations are collaborating closely to extend successful partnerships from the United States to Querétaro, which emphasizes their belief in MDC’s capabilities as a pivotal interconnection hub in Mexico. MDC Data Centers' proactive approach and actively neutral philosophy enable them to work alongside their partners to identify opportunities and resolve challenges effectively, aiming to drive sustainable growth in the region. The launch of MDC-QRO comes at a time when digital growth across Latin America is accelerating. As businesses increasingly look for reliable and efficient data solutions, MDC's expansion is positioned to fulfill these demands while bolstering the digital infrastructure between Mexico and the United States. The integration of the Querétaro data center will not only enhance interconnectivity but also support MDC's vision for sustained growth in the coming decade.
