Casting Call for Extras in Guernsey's New Pirate Film

Guernsey filmmakers are on the lookout for local extras to participate in a feature-length pirate movie titled "The Redcoats," which is currently in production. Following initial filming in the waters around Herm, the next phase will take place in St Peter Port and Vale, with shooting set to commence in August. The film is anticipated to be released in 2025. Director Lars Janssen, a Guernsey native, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the significance of filming at Castle Cornet, a historic site that has not hosted a feature-length film since the 1970s. Janssen described the opportunity as "an honour," emphasizing the film's local roots and cultural importance. The production has already utilized a replica of an 18th-century frigate named Shtandart for scenes shot around Herm. Guernsey Filmworks is collaborating with High Fliers Films, a London-based distributor, to bring this ambitious project to fruition.
