Congress Leader Joins Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena

In a significant political shift, former Congress corporator Sanjay Gaikwad from the Jalna Municipal Corporation has officially joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, accompanied by hundreds of his supporters. The transition took place on August 11 at Hanuman Ghat, where Gaikwad and his followers from various localities, including Hanuman Ghat, Khandsari, Lalbag, and the Powerloom area, were welcomed into the party by former Maharashtra minister Arjun Khotkar and other Shiv Sena leaders. Gaikwad cited dissatisfaction with the internal dynamics of the Congress party as a primary reason for his departure. He expressed frustration over what he described as a monopoly within the party, which he felt hindered effective governance and development. His supporters from his ward have reportedly endorsed his decision, which he believes will pave the way for enhanced development opportunities in the region. The event was marked by the presence of several prominent Shiv Sena figures, including district secretary Abhimanyu Khotkar, Panditrao Bhutekar, and Vishnu Pachfule, among others. Khotkar expressed enthusiasm over the influx of new activists into Shiv Sena, emphasizing the party's commitment to treating all members with respect and dignity. This move reflects a broader trend of political realignment in Maharashtra, as leaders and their supporters seek new platforms for their aspirations and community development.
