Alberta Innovates experiences cyberattack and network issues

Alberta Innovates, a Crown corporation in Alberta, faced network issues attributed to a cyberattack from an unidentified third party. Dwayne Brunner, a spokesman for the organization, confirmed that the issues were resolved quickly and that an investigation is currently underway with the help of cybersecurity experts. While Brunner did not clarify if any personal or proprietary information was compromised, he emphasized that the privacy and security of the information held by Alberta Innovates is a priority. The organization, which has played a role in technological innovation for over a century, reports to Technology and Innovation Minister Nate Glubish, who has made the cyber team available for assistance.
