Giants Trade Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson to Braves

This move reunites Soler and Jackson with the Braves, the team they helped secure the championship title in 2021. In exchange, the Giants received left-handed reliever Tyler Matzek and minor league infielder Sabin Ceballos. Jorge Soler, a key player in the Braves' 2021 World Series victory, has had a mixed season with the Giants, posting a .240 batting average with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs over 93 games. The 32-year-old Cuban outfielder was an All-Star with the Miami Marlins last year and previously contributed significantly to the Braves' success, including hitting three pivotal home runs during the 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros. Luke Jackson, also 32, has had a solid career, throwing 3 2/3 scoreless innings in the 2021 World Series. This season, he appeared in 36 games for the Giants, recording a 4-2 record with a 5.40 ERA and 33 strikeouts. Over his nine-year career, Jackson has maintained a 4.23 ERA across 322 games. To accommodate the new additions, the Braves designated right-hander Darius Vines for assignment, making room on their 40-man roster for Soler and Jackson.
