Bargi Dam in Jabalpur Opens 17 Gates as Water Surges

On Wednesday morning, the Bargi Dam in Jabalpur opened 17 gates for the first time this season due to heavy rainfall in the region. The water level surged to 422.85 meters, surpassing the dam's full capacity of 422.76 meters. This increase in water level prompted the authorities to take immediate action to prevent overflow and potential flooding in surrounding areas. As a result, 8027 cubic meters of water per second is being released from the dam. The weather department has forecasted more heavy rainfall in the coming days, raising concerns about further increases in water levels.
