Alfredo Ingletti elected FIDIC president-elect in international engineering shift

At the 2024 FIDIC general assembly meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, on September 8, Alfredo Ingletti was elected as the new president-elect of FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers. Ingletti, who is the co-founder and chairman of 3TI Progetti in Rome, Italy, will assume the presidency in September 2025, marking a historic moment as he will be the first Italian to hold this position. His election reflects the high regard for Italian engineers and their contributions to the consulting engineering industry. Ingletti expressed his gratitude for the election, emphasizing the importance of the consulting engineering sector in improving lives globally. He aims to continue advocating for FIDIC and its members under the current leadership of Catherine Karakatsanis. Alongside Ingletti, Cosmin Tobolcea was elected as a new board member, bringing over 20 years of experience in construction contract implementation and supervision. Tobolcea, who leads a prominent Romanian consultancy firm, has been a strong advocate for FIDIC and future leaders in the industry. His election is seen as a commitment to nurturing new talent within the organization. Karakatsanis praised both Ingletti and Tobolcea for their leadership qualities and contributions to the engineering community. The assembly also acknowledged the service of outgoing board member Luis Villarroya, who has significantly impacted FIDIC during his five-year tenure.
