Israeli military campaign claims over 44,400 lives in Gaza

In the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has escalated its operations in the northern Gaza Strip. This escalation follows a surprise attack from Hamas that resulted in significant casualties on both sides, leading to the current humanitarian crisis in the region. As of now, the Israeli army has reported that its operations are targeting militant infrastructure to prevent any regrouping efforts by Hamas. However, these military actions have led to extensive civilian suffering, with numerous reports of homes being bombed and civilians caught in the crossfire. However, the Israeli government, asserting that Hamas should not have any role in governance, maintains that any resolution must involve stripping Hamas of its powers.
