According to independent news outlet Meduza, Moscow is attempting to divert public attention through humanitarian assistance initiatives while assuring residents that Russian forces will reclaim the region following what they describe as Ukraine's "inevitable" defeat on the eastern front. In a notable development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Sumy, a border region, to meet with military officials, signaling a decrease in Russian attacks following the incursion. Zelenskyy refrained from crossing into Kursk, likely to avoid provoking Moscow further.
