Story

A historic residence in Carmel-by-the-Sea, previously owned by actor Clint Eastwood, is now available for sale. Eastwood lived in the property from 1981 to 1996, during and after his tenure as the town's mayor. The home has been owned by Frederick M. O’Such for nearly three decades, who expressed his family's fondness for the property in a recent statement, highlighting their extensive renovations that embraced an Arts and Crafts style. The expansive 4,500 square-foot home is set on an 11,400 square-foot lot and features three stories. O’Such emphasized the inviting nature of the property, which reflects the old-world charm of Carmel. The outdoor courtyard includes a dining area with a firepit and a private walkway leading to the nearby Carmel Beach, enhancing the home's appeal for entertaining and relaxation. Inside, the residence boasts a Craftsman-style kitchen equipped with high-end Thermador and Subzero appliances, including a double oven and a large farmhouse sink. The primary bedroom is particularly noteworthy, featuring numerous windows with ocean views, an exposed wooden ceiling, and a gas fireplace. It also includes a private balcony and two ensuite bathrooms, one of which is outfitted with a vintage clawfoot tub. The home accommodates additional living space with three more bedrooms located on the upper and lower levels, one of which is spacious enough to fit three full-sized beds, making it ideal for families or guests.
