Allegations of Business Relationship Between Uddhav and Ajay Gupta

Sanjay Nirupam, Deputy Leader and Spokesperson of Shiv Sena, has raised serious allegations regarding a potential business relationship between Uddhav Thackeray and the Gupta brothers, a controversial group of businessmen from Africa. Nirupam claims that Thackeray met with Ajay Gupta at the residence of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in Delhi on August 7, 2024. He has called for an investigation into the CCTV footage from Raut's residence to verify this meeting, questioning Thackeray's unusual choice to stay there instead of his typical luxury hotel accommodations. Nirupam has expressed concerns about Thackeray's foreign investments, suggesting that the recent approval from the Election Commission for Thackeray to accept donations may be linked to his dealings with the Gupta brothers, potentially for election funding. He highlighted the Thackeray family's overseas investments, including properties in London, and raised questions about possible investments in Africa involving the Gupta brothers. In addition to his allegations against Thackeray, Nirupam accused Sanjay Raut of acting as a middleman for builders and implicated him in the Patra Chawl scam, where he allegedly earned substantial commissions. He has called for a thorough investigation into Raut's connections with the Gupta brothers and the late Baba Sahani, a builder from Dehradun who recently committed suicide, suggesting a broader network of corruption that needs to be examined.
