Man Arrested for Attempting to Kill Ex and Her Mother

An 18-year-old man, Matthew Robert Austin, has been arrested in Oklahoma for allegedly plotting to murder his ex-girlfriend and her mother. The arrest occurred on July 18, after a friend reported Austin's disturbing intentions to harm his ex and her family. Police found him near her residence equipped with latex gloves and a painter’s mask, which he claimed were for painting his room. However, he later confessed to planning to stab them. Austin is also facing serious charges in a separate case involving the rape of a 14-year-old girl. According to court records, he admitted to having sexual relations with the girl, mistakenly believing she was 19. The girl's mother reported the incident to the Moore Police Department, leading to an investigation. Text messages revealed that Austin had misled the girl about his age, claiming to be 16 when he was actually 18. The allegations against Austin include not only the rape but also threats made to the girl, urging her to keep the incident a secret due to their age difference. A nurse examiner assessed the victim following the incident. Austin has been charged with planning acts of violence, possession of marijuana, and intimidating a witness, among other offenses, with a total bond exceeding $30,000. His bond for the rape charge has been set at $400,000, reflecting the severity of the allegations against him.
