CHICAGO (CBS) — Authorities are appealing for assistance in locating individuals involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian seriously injured in the Fuller Park neighborhood last month. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 20, at approximately 9:19 p.m., when the victim was crossing the street in a designated crosswalk on South Wells Street, near Garfield Boulevard. According to police reports, the pedestrian was struck by a white 2016 Dodge Charger SXT four-door sedan. Following the collision, the vehicle was discovered abandoned just minutes later in the 200 block of West Marquette Road, located in the Englewood neighborhood. The police have since released an image of the car in question as part of their investigation. Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed the occupants exiting the vehicle after the incident. The police are urging members of the community to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying those responsible for the hit-and-run. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the police Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
