Michigan Gas Prices Drop to $3.28 This Week

In Michigan, gas prices have decreased by 7 cents since the previous week, with drivers currently paying an average of $3.28 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel. This price remains consistent with the average from a month ago and is 22 cents lower than the same time last year. The cost for filling a typical 15-gallon tank is approximately $49, which is $9 less than what drivers experienced in August 2023. In Metro Detroit, the average price is slightly higher at $3.40 per gallon, reflecting a 3-cent drop from last week and a 7-cent decrease compared to last year. Despite an increase in demand for fuel, prices are continuing to decline across the state. AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland noted that if demand changes, gas prices could potentially drop further. The most expensive gas prices are found in Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Marquette, while Benton Harbor, Saginaw, and Grand Rapids offer the lowest prices. These fluctuations in gas prices are influenced by various market factors, including supply and demand dynamics, which can lead to significant changes in consumer costs over time.
