Pedestrian killed after being hit by two cars in South Los Angeles

Following the initial collision, the driver of the Toyota Corolla briefly stopped to assist the victim, but as he did so, a second vehicle—a blue car that was also heading southbound—struck the pedestrian again. Instead of stopping to provide aid, this second driver continued traveling south on Figueroa Street and fled the scene. Concurrent to this incident, an equally concerning case was reported in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles just after 10:20 p.m. on the same night. Here, another pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, identified as either a dark or silver-colored Honda RX, at La Brea Avenue and Venice Boulevard. Similar to the earlier incident, this driver also failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian, who was crossing La Brea at the time of the collision. Police have speculated that speed may have contributed to this second crash as well.
