Speaking before the Angels' game against Oakland, Trout expressed relief, stating, “It is a huge relief for me. I just want to make sure it feels good, and then go and get back out there.” Trout recently began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake but had to exit early due to knee soreness. The soreness was attributed to scar tissue breaking up in his knee while jogging, a development that Trout described as frustrating, especially since he had felt no discomfort leading up to the incident. After just two innings of play, he returned to Southern California for further examination.
