Millwall Set to Sign Celtic's Daniel Kelly Ahead of Schedule

Millwall Football Club is on the verge of finalizing a deal for Celtic's promising midfielder, Daniel Kelly, who is just 18 years old. Initially, Kelly had agreed to a pre-contract that would see him join Millwall on January 1, following the expiration of his contract with Celtic. However, recent negotiations between the two clubs have allowed for an earlier transfer, enabling Kelly to move to South London in the coming days. The Scotland Under-19 international is highly regarded at Celtic, where the club had hoped to retain his services. Kelly is expected to undergo a medical examination at Millwall's training ground, The Den, early this week. If the deal is completed, he will become the fifth player to join the Lions during the summer transfer window. Millwall's head coach, Neil Harris, has expressed enthusiasm about Kelly's potential, describing him as an "old-fashioned No.8" who could become a significant asset for the team. Harris confirmed the agreement and emphasized that while Kelly is a talented young player, he may not immediately break into the first team. He drew parallels between Kelly and Alfie Massey, who recently made a successful debut, suggesting that fans should remain optimistic about the club's youth prospects.
