PCMC Aims to Streamline Healthcare Administration for Hospitals

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is taking steps to enhance administrative processes for hospitals and medical establishments within its jurisdiction. In a recent meeting led by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, representatives from various medical associations discussed pressing issues such as fire NOC, biomedical waste management, and hospital registration. The meeting, organized by Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge, included stakeholders from Ayurveda, the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), private hospitals, and dental associations, allowing doctors to voice their regulatory compliance challenges. Commissioner Singh assured attendees that the civic body would consider concessions on biomedical waste fees, mirroring the Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) approach. He emphasized improvements to the online registration process for hospitals, aiming to provide timely acknowledgments and reduce processing times. Singh stated, “We will make the process of hospital registration through the B-Form via private agencies for Fire Audit NOC easier,” indicating a commitment to easing bureaucratic hurdles. MLA Mahesh Landge highlighted the importance of collaboration between municipal hospitals and private healthcare providers in promoting urban health. Dr. Laxman Gofane, PCMC Health Commissioner, expressed optimism about resolving the fire NOC situation in the region, expecting a final solution within days, which would benefit both hospitals and patients. Additionally, MLA Landge proposed the establishment of an Ayurveda and Panchakarma hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad. In response, Commissioner Singh has directed the medical department to identify a suitable location and prepare a proposal for this initiative.
