On Monday afternoon, train service on the Thorndale line experienced significant disruptions due to downed overhead wires, halting operations in both directions between Center City Philadelphia and Thorndale Station. Along with the Thorndale line, service on the Cynwyd line was also suspended as a result of the same issue. The disruptions lasted for several hours before SEPTA announced that train services would resume around 6:45 p.m. Following repairs by Amtrak and SEPTA crews, the first train to depart into Center City was identified as train 5352 leaving from Malvern Station. Commuters were encouraged to utilize the SEPTA Trip Planner for alternative transportation options during the service interruption.
