US Secretary of State Marco Rubio urges Cuba to change course or face consequences

On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US hopes Cuba will choose a different path, warning that those who do not change course will learn the lesson the hard way. The Trump administration has previously stated its goal is to change Cuba's communist government. A US-imposed oil blockade has caused fuel shortages and blackouts in Cuba. Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez said Cuba is open for dialogue with Washington. President Trump predicted the US and Cuba will reach an agreement and that military action will not be necessary. Rubio also said Venezuela needs free and fair elections.
