Dad sets potential world record by running a mile while pushing his daughter in a stroller

In Cleveland, Ohio, an extraordinary event took place during the annual Guardian Mile on Saturday, where Stephen Biebelhausen, an emergency room doctor, and his daughter Blake participated in the Stroller Mile. They completed the race in an impressive time of 4 minutes and 17 seconds, which, if verified, would make them the new world record holders for the fastest stroller mile. The current record is held by Silas Frantz, who completed the mile in 4 minutes and 26.29 seconds in June 2025. Biebelhausen's remarkable performance included running the first half-mile in 2 minutes and 12 seconds and finishing the second half in 2 minutes and 5 seconds.

The race course started near Market Square Park, crossed over the Cuyahoga River, and concluded near the Western Reserve Fire Museum and Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians. Biebelhausen expressed his excitement about the event, stating that he thought it would be fun to take Blake along in the stroller. He had initially aimed for a time of around 4 minutes and 44 seconds but was pleasantly surprised by their actual performance.

Blake, who was only a baby at the time, seemed to enjoy the experience, engaging with the crowd and remaining in good spirits despite the race occurring 45 minutes past her bedtime. Biebelhausen emphasized the importance of spending quality time with his daughter during their runs, highlighting the joy it brings to both of them.

As of now, ABC News has reached out to Guinness World Records to confirm whether Biebelhausen's time will be officially recognized. If validated, this achievement would not only mark a personal milestone for Biebelhausen and Blake but also set a new standard in the world of competitive stroller racing.
