Florida voters face critical choices in upcoming primary election

In Florida, the primary election scheduled for August 18, 2026, will be pivotal as voters select nominees for several significant state offices, including the U.S. Senate and the governorship. This election is particularly crucial due to the newly drawn political map that has reshaped congressional districts, impacting the dynamics of various races. The U.S. Senate race is especially noteworthy as it will determine who will complete the term previously held by Marco Rubio, who left the Senate in January 2025 to take on the role of U.S. Secretary of State.
