Billionaire's $350 million superyacht spotted in Hawaii

A massive superyacht, valued at over $350 million, was recently spotted cruising in Hawaiian waters, sparking widespread curiosity and speculation among locals and visitors. Notably, the art gallery features a revolving collection that includes works by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Christopher Wool, and Richard Prince. The yacht's name is derived from the Studio Ghibli anime "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" by Hayao Miyazaki, and also has roots in Greek mythology, meaning "burner of ships" or "she who shines among the ships."

Maezawa's lifestyle is as extravagant as his yacht. He has a history of eccentric behavior, including an incident where his children reportedly threw a bowl of cereal at a $110 million Jean-Michel Basquiat painting because they were frightened by the artwork. This occurred aboard another luxury vessel. Beyond his yachting pursuits, Maezawa made history as the first private passenger to visit the International Space Station and has been selected for a planned trip around the moon aboard SpaceX's Starship.

The Nausicaä is not just a display of wealth; it is also technologically advanced. It cruises at around 14 knots with a top speed exceeding 20 knots. When anchored, it can operate in a silent, battery-powered mode, shutting down its generators and relying on a 2-megawatt battery bank to run onboard systems.
