France and Britain carried out their first joint exercise involving France's airborne nuclear deterrent on Tuesday evening. British Typhoon jets joined French Rafale warplanes in the exercise, which simulated a nuclear strike. The exercise, called "Rummy," took off from the Saint-Dizier air base in northeastern France. French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin said the exercise showed coordination and commitment in support of Europe's security. The two countries agreed in July 2025 to reinforce cooperation over their nuclear arsenals in response to growing threats to Europe and uncertainty over their US ally.
