Google unveils Pixel 11 Pro Fold with enhanced durability features

In the United States, Google has launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which is now available for preorder and set to officially launch on August 20, 2026. This new device is priced at $1,899 and is designed to be tougher and thinner than its predecessor, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold features a 6.5-inch display with a new glass-ceramic cover that offers better resistance to scratches and cracks, making it a more durable option for users. Additionally, the device is nearly 10% lighter than the previous model, enhancing its portability and ease of use.

The inner display of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold measures 8 inches and is equipped with anti-impact film, providing better protection against drops compared to other foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Motorola Razr Fold, which lack dust and fine sand protection. This improvement in durability is particularly appealing for users who may want to take their devices to outdoor locations, such as the beach. While the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is slightly thicker than its competitors, the differences are minimal, showcasing advancements in foldable design technology.

In terms of camera specifications, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold maintains a more basic camera system compared to the higher-end Pixel 11 Pro models. However, it still includes features like Magic Capture and HiLight, which allows users to customize notifications with different colors on the back of the phone. This feature helps users quickly identify incoming calls without needing to flip the device over.

The battery capacity of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has decreased from 5,015 mAh in the previous model to 4,806 mAh this year. Despite this reduction, Google claims that the battery will last over 24 hours, which will be tested by users once the device is available. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes with 16GB of RAM and offers storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, with a price increase of $100 for the same storage capacity as last year’s model.
