He expressed delight that people of all ages are appreciating his music, noting that age is not a barrier to enjoying his work. However, his love songs have taken on a deeper emotional resonance since the passing of his wife, Patricia, in 2021. The couple had been married for 57 years, and Patricia, who died at 85 after battling Alzheimer's disease and contracting COVID-19, was a foundational support in his life and career. Humperdinck credits her with helping him rise from obscurity and raising their children while he was often away on tour.
