Ardo Austria to close its frozen food plant in Gross-Enzersdorf by 2027, affecting 190 workers

Ardo Austria Frost GmbH, a frozen food producer, announced on Thursday that it will close its production and packaging plant in Gross-Enzersdorf, Lower Austria, by 2027. The company cited the plant's age and the need for significant investments. The closure will affect 190 employees, for whom a social plan will be developed, plus 50 seasonal workers. Sales staff will move to a new location in the Vienna region. Vegetable production will continue until December 2026, with a gradual shutdown thereafter. The company will focus on sales in Austria, sourcing vegetables from other plants.
